Operations Specialist, Creative Strategist, and Systems Builder

Ristel Joy Osorio (Mandaya/Filipino) is the Executive Assistant and Graphic Designer at Indigenous Just Transition, where she provides vital operational, creative, and strategic support to advance the organization’s mission. She is deeply committed to building systems that allow visionary work to flourish, ensuring that Indigenous-led movements for climate justice, cultural sovereignty, and regenerative futures are supported by strong internal foundations and powerful visual storytelling.

With a background in administrative operations, digital organization, and creative design, Ristel brings a unique blend of precision and artistry to her work. She is skilled at managing complex workflows, coordinating communications, organizing key documents, and supporting leadership with seamless logistical and strategic execution. At the same time, she uses her design expertise to translate ideas into visually compelling materials, from campaign graphics and social media content to presentations and educational resources, that reflect Indigenous values and strengthen community connection.

Ristel’s leadership is grounded in service and cultural humility. She approaches each project with care and intention, ensuring that every detail, whether logistical or visual, aligns with Indigenous Just Transition’s broader vision of justice and liberation. Her work behind the scenes helps keep projects moving, teams aligned, and narratives powerful, enabling the organization to focus its energy on transformative change.

Through her dual roles in operations and design, Ristel builds the connective tissue that holds movement work together. She believes that thoughtful systems and meaningful storytelling are essential tools for liberation, and she uses both to help Indigenous Just Transition bring its bold visions to life.
