Movement Strategist, Fundraiser, and Coalition Builder

Chiara Rose is a strategist, fundraiser, and movement builder whose work is rooted in reciprocity, collaboration, and bold vision. Her journey began as a young conservationist learning what it truly means to protect the natural world. Early in her career, she navigated traditional conservation systems that often treated land as separate from the people who belonged to it. Over time, she came to understand that the most powerful environmental movements have always been led by Tribal Nations; communities whose stewardship is grounded in relationship, reciprocity, and responsibility. That realization transformed her path and deepened her lifelong commitment to centering Indigenous leadership in the work of climate justice and regeneration.

As a core supporter during the founding of Indigenous Just Transition, Chiara helped lay the groundwork for the organization’s early growth; shaping its development strategy, programs, and partnerships. Today, she continues to guide its expansion, ensuring that community-led projects have the resources, infrastructure, and support they need to thrive. With a background in environmental campaigning, communications, and nonprofit strategy, Chiara built her technical expertise through impactful roles with the Endangered Species Coalition, the Southeast Alaska Conservation Council, and other advocacy organizations.

These experiences honed her ability to move campaigns, build coalitions, and secure funding to turn vision into action. Along the way, Chiara discovered that the most meaningful progress happens when Indigenous leadership is centered and resourced. An experienced fundraiser and project manager, she has helped design and guide dozens of initiatives, from climate resilience and clean energy transitions to cultural preservation and community health programs.

Through her consulting practice, Chiara also provides technical assistance to fiscally sponsored projects, helping them build capacity, secure funding, and move from vision to implementation. Her leadership is grounded in humility and collaboration, guided by the belief that the best work emerges when people feel seen, trusted, and supported to lead in their own way. Every project she undertakes is part of an ongoing learning journey, walking alongside Tribal Nations and community leaders to co-create a more just and regenerative future. As she often reflects, “The more I learn, the more I understand that healing the land is the same as healing our relationships, to place, to each other, and to ourselves.”
